The share link is the one to use
Facebook gives a reel several addresses depending on where you are standing. The app's share sheet produces a short fb.watch link, the desktop site shows a long /reel/ address with tracking parameters attached, and an older upload of the same clip may sit under /videos/. All three lead to one file, and the extra parameters are ignored.
What matters more is that the reel is public. Facebook is one of the few platforms here that puts up no fight at all for public posts — no login wall, no rate limit worth mentioning — and correspondingly no way in at all for anything that is not.
Ordinary videos too
The Facebook Downloader handles watch links and page videos, at every quality Facebook publishes.
Facebook DownloaderFrequently asked questions
Which link shapes work?
facebook.com/reel/, the fb.watch short link the share button produces, /watch?v= and /{page}/videos/{id}. They all carry the same numeric id, so any of them can be pasted, including the m.facebook.com versions.
Can I get just the audio?
Yes, as a 320 kbps MP3 listed alongside the video. Useful when the reel is there for a song or a voiceover and the picture is not the point.
Why are the qualities called SD and HD instead of 720p or 1080p?
Because those are the names Facebook itself puts on them, and it publishes no dimensions for the two files that play everywhere. Inventing a resolution to fill the gap would look tidier and occasionally be wrong, so the labels stay as Facebook wrote them.
Do private or group reels work?
Only public ones. If a reel needs you to be signed in, or belongs to a closed group, it is not reachable from here — there is no Facebook account behind this site.
Is downloading Facebook reels legal?
Saving a public reel to watch offline is ordinary use. Re-uploading someone else’s reel as your own is not, and it does not become acceptable because a tool made it easy.
