Choose a file and it saves straight to your device.

A reel and a post are the same file

Instagram shows reels in their own tab, with their own player and their own share sheet, so it is reasonable to assume they are a separate kind of thing. They are not. A reel, a video post and an IGTV clip are one video behind three addresses, which is why the same box handles whichever link you happen to have.

It also means the quality question has a dull answer: you get what Instagram holds. There is no hidden higher-resolution copy to unlock, and a tool promising 4K from a reel is offering you an upscale — a bigger file containing the same picture.

Posts and carousels too

The Instagram Downloader covers photo posts and whole carousels, every item at full size and in the order it was posted.

Frequently asked questions

Which reel links work?

All of them. instagram.com/reel/, /reels/, /p/ and /tv/ carry the same shortcode, so the address the share sheet gives you and the one in your browser bar both resolve to the same file.

Can I get the audio on its own?

Yes, as a 320 kbps MP3 offered next to the video. If the reel has no sound the MP3 is not listed, rather than handed over as a silent file.

What about Stories?

Stories do not work here and will not. Instagram only serves them to a logged-in account, and running this site on a logged-in account is against their terms. Reels and posts are the scope.

Do private accounts work?

No. If a post is not visible when you are signed out, it is not visible to this site either — there is no account behind it to see more than you can.

Is the video re-encoded?

No. The file streams through as Instagram stores it. That file was already compressed when it was uploaded, and no downloader can undo that — but nothing here makes it worse a second time.
